Drive C: is being defragmented! Help the poor fragmented data blocks get to their correct physical locations before it's too late!

Goal

Pick up the blocks of data that need to be relocated (light green) and quickly drive them to their destinations (yellow). Avoid the walls (white and red) and keep moving or else you'll get defragmented yourself! Remember that you can only pick up or drop off blocks when you're at a complete stop. the faster you deliver your blocks, the more points you'll get!

Controls

  • Left/Right: Steer
  • B: Accelerate
  • A or C: Break
  • Up/Down: Shift from Drive to Reverse and back

Hints

  • If you hold Accelerate and Break at the same time, you'll go into a skid. While skidding, you can spin the car freely (effectively doing a drift). Your fares love it when you drift and will give you more points if you drift on your way to the destination.
  • There's only so much window to scroll down. When the scroll bar reaches the bottom, you're toast!
  • If you feel like you're going too fast, try driving backwards!

Technical:

This is a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive-compatible rom. It should work on real hardware using a flash cart or in emulation. I recommend Genesis Plus GX.

Oh, man.  Clever idea.  It's very fitting to create a game for a retro console that has such an old school theme. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was defragging my mechanical hard drives, but I don't remember it being so rad.  😎

Thanks :) Here at Safety Stoat Studios we're always striving to improve the past

I'm trying to decide whether or not you might possibly be the real Doc Brown.  Does that little yellow car run on plutonium by any chance?

You know, it might...
